If you take a right from the way you entered AHC and drive into Haskell you will find the following restaurants:
Subway - You all know what is offered at Subway and one Subway is not much different from another.
Haskell General - Haskell General sells both breakfast and lunch. If you are a fan of good Southern breakfast, Haskell General is the place. They have eggs and different meat offerings but the highest recommendation is for their biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are large and the gravy is homemade. For lunch, they fry your burger after you order and the pizza is the best in this area.
If you turn left and go to Highway 67 you can turn right and eat at Harp's, Sonic, or McDonalds. You know the fare at Sonic and McDonalds. Harp's has a deli and their fried chicken is pretty good; not as good as the Colonel's.
If you turn left and follow Highway 67 about 10 miles you can go across the interstate and eat at JJ's. JJ's is a truck stop that serves breakfast all day and a large variety of offerings for lunch. They cook to order hamburgers as well. If you go to JJ's, be sure to ask for Holly. She is a very good waitress so give her a good tip.
If none of these offering will suffice your taste buds, you can drive to Benton (about 15 minutes) where there is a wide assortment of offerings (Taco Bell, La Hacienda, Patron's, Maya Riviera, Rib Crib, Applebee's, Colton's, etc.) Colton's and Applebee's have alcoholic beverages available otherwise you are in a dry county. Sorry Ron, you will have to drive to Bryant if you want Chili's but you can get chicken fingers at Haskell General!
The offerings are certainly gourmet but they are easy on the pocket book and are satisfying for most!
