During the May, 2014 CASM meeting the following individuals were nominated for Member of the year.

Brianna Childres was nominated by Cliff Bullock.  Brianna Childres is involved in many behind-the-scene activities that are supportive of the club.  As the Contest Coordinator she coordinates the Contest Committee and keeps contest preparation going along a timeline, developed the on-line registration system, scouted out new venues, and ordered medals as well as kept track of a large number of other details related to the contest.  As the Web page designer and social media coordinator she designed and keeps the running of the club website and facebook.  On the E-Board she is prone to stretching the role of the club in the community and is supportive of young modelers, young adults, and cancer awareness as well as keeping the CASM name in the presence of social media.  For every club meeting she operates the live streaming of the club meetings and communicates with participants on the web.  Brianna has been a source of information to other clubs and contest coordinators on how to use social media and how set up streamlined contests.  Brianna has prepared presentations for the different IPMS awards that are presented each year which resulted in CASM achieving honors as Region 6 Chapter of the Year twice and IPMS Chapter of the Year.

Kenneth Childres was nominated by Ron Leker.  As President of the club, Ken Childres has steered the club through turbulent times and sustained the club’s growth.  He actively reaches out to modelers around the world and while at contests talks about CASM and models to venders and other modelers.  His modeling abilities have garnered many awards at contests and he has written articles for Fine Scale Modeler.  While President of CASM, the club has received awards for Region 6 Chapter of the Year twice and IPMS Chapter of the Year once in honor of the achievements accomplished by CASM.  He is quick to provide assistance to other modelers in order to help others grow in their hobby.  He has also designed the club T-shirts which are colorful and distinctive.

Brent Bristow was nominated by Tom Brown.  Brent Bristow deserves to be the CASM Member of the year because of the numerous activities that he has done this year in support of the club and the modeling hobby.  Activities include arranging an art display of models from CASM and non-CASM members at a University of Arkansas-Beebe art gallery, writing multiple articles for the Scratching Post, demonstrating at the club meeting how to apply super-gloss finishes, teaching at the club Airbrush Seminar, participating in the Pulaski Tech Model class and acting as an ambassador from CASM to the class, attending multiple out-of-state contests and sharing about CASM to people he meets at the contests, participating in setting up and taking down the CASM contest, and in fulfilling his responsibilities as CASM Secretary.  He spells all of the names correctly of both people and models.

I would like to nominate Tom Brown for CASM member of the year. Tom has exhibited a strong desire to see the club grow and done a lot to facilitate it. Tom has worked diligently to make the CASM Scratching Post a cutting edge online resource by gathering articles and demonstrations on a wide variety of topics and from a wide variety of people. The scratching post gets a tremendous amount of online traffic and I believe that is because of Tom's commitment to making it as good as possible. As a member of the CASM board of elected officers Tom has been a great asset. He brings a rational ,level headed approach to any topic or issue and seems to have a knack for getting to the root of a discussion. Tom devised the "Interest Survey" that CASM members fill out so that the officers know exactly where their interest and motivations lie. Lastly, Tom really enjoys talking color theory and techniques with people and has a desire to learn as much as he can while sharing what he already knows. He also appreciates the work and creativity of other genres and isn't afraid to branch out and learn about other subject matters.

Bob Hyatt was nominated by Brianna Childres.  Bob Hyatt was nominated because he goes to numerous shows to represent the club, passes out club info, brings in new members, and supports the show by buying sponsorships.
