CASM Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by President Ray Smith at 10:02 A.M.
Announcements:
CASM Web Forum: The current CASM forum will be shut-down effective December 31, 2014. No information on the current forum will be saved. Only the forum portion of the club website will be shut down. Please contact Bri Childress if you are not able to save any information.
By-Law Review: The new Executive Board will be reviewing the current club By-Laws. Every current member is welcome to submit any suggestions to Club Secretary Matt Bond. Please send an email with subject line “CASM By-Law Amendment Suggestions” to Matt at [email protected].
Dues: CASM dues for 2015 are due. Please pay Treasurer Brent Bristow. Brent will be unavailable for the January meeting and payments can be made to Secretary Matt Bond at the meeting. Payments can also be made on the club website.
2014 Sproo-Doo: A vote was made on the venue for the 2015 show. It will be in the ballroom as the Statehouse Convention Center.
Please think about a possible show theme. Steve Wilson suggested “50th Anniversary of Vietnam”.
Club Survey: The annual club interest survey will be given at the January meeting.
Public Displays: CASM needs to do another public display to spread awareness of the club and the hobby. If any members are aware of a possible venue please let an officer know.
Upcoming Demos: Rick Knapp does not have anyone booked for a demo after the February meeting. Please contact him if you are interested in presenting a demo.
Hobby Town: Hobby Town is conducting a clearance sale on some paints.
Scratching Post: Scratching Post editor Ken Childress is always looking for more contributors. Please contact him if interested.
July Group Build: The next group build will be due in July. Cliff Bullock began discussion on a build theme.
Several suggestions were made and a vote made. The theme will be “Wrecked”.

Brent Bristow gave a demo on painting clear parts.
December Group Build: The entries for the December group build “Frozen” were presented and judged by the club.
1st Place -$15 gift card Cliff Bullock KV2 tank
2nd Place- $10 gift card Ron Leker Star Wars Snow Speeder
3rd Place- $5 gift card Darius Long Sherman tank
Other entries were a walking Tiger tank by Brian Elliot and a melted Olaf the snowman from “Frozen”.

Bob Hiatt presented a WIP Revell Germany USS Fletcher.

Darius Long presented a Tamiya 1/35 M4A3E2 Jumbo Sherman tank with Tank Workshop turret and transmission cover.
Ken Fausett presented a WIP AMT 1953 Ford truck.
Dakota Leker presented a WIP Revell Germany USS Indianapolis and a 3D wooden puzzle USS Alabama.
Ron Leker presented a WIP Fine Molds TIE Advanced with Darth Vader figure.
