Modeling Workshop
The club is going to sponsor a modeling workshop after the club meeting on February 11, 2012. This will be a several hour long workshop that is “hands on” and will cover airbrushing technique. The cost of the workshop is $10.00 and will require advanced registration. The funds will be used to cover materials in the workshop. During the workshop, participants will practice basic airbrush techniques under the guidance of club members who know how to use an airbrush. Other topics will include mixing the proper consistency of paint for airbrushing and using different kinds of paint such as enamel, acrylic, and lacquer. There will be 1:1 instruction and guidance in how to use the airbrush. Air supply will be provided. Participants who have airbrushes will be asked to bring them and for those without airbrushes, they will be provided. This will be the beginning of other workshops to come in the future where advance techniques will be taught.
Art Center
Noel approached the Art Center to display models from club members. The Director of the Art Center declined the display due to his opinion that it would not be befitting of the venue. He did suggest our participation in some craft displays.
Die Cast Pre-made Models
Sam presented several diecast models that were of excellent quality. He suggested that people who were interested in purchasing these models should contact Roger at Hobbytown USA so that Hobbytown might carry a full line of high quality collectables.
