2017 IPMS Nationals: IPMS has sent out invitations for hosting the 2017 National Contest. This year IPMS is offering to cover the majority of financial costs for hosting the contest. We will request more information and present to the club whether CASM would like to submit a bid for hosting.
Sproo-Doo: The recent show was discussed. There were several suggestions on how to enhance future shows such as enhancing the judging, upgrading to a faster computer system, setting firm times for awards ceremonies, and providing guests with a hard copy listing of nearby restaurants and attractions. We are also working on securing larger space in the Little Rock Convention Center for the 2015 Sproo-Doo. This will be brought before the general member ship for a vote.
Club members also need to start thing of a theme for 2015 Sproo-Doo. This will also be brought before the club.
USS Alabama Memorial Park: Mobile Area Modelers Association of IPMS Region 3 have a strong association with the Battleship Memorial Park. This park is home to several military aircraft and ground vehicle displays that were severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Several of the aircraft and many of the ground vehicles have not been fully repaired. The park gets very limited funding and it was discussed on how CASM could assist. Possible fundraising efforts will continue to be discussed and brought before the general membership.
Annual Membership Surveys: The annual membership survey will be sent out in January. An addition will be made to the survey asking what club members would like to add for club activities.
IMPS Charter Renewal: The paper work for re-charter has been submitted to IMPS for 2015.
